You can learn a lot about the age and condition of a boat trailer by looking at the tires. Besides checking for uneven or excessive wear, manufacturer numbers on the tire sidewall will tell you how old the tire is. This might give you clues about the real age of the trailer, or of how well an older trailer has been maintained.
The four numbers shown above tell you the tire’s age. The first two numbers are the week or manufacture. The last two numbers indicate the year. In this illustration, the tire was manufactured on the third week of 2004.
