THE KINGMAN COMMUNITY CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!  PLEASE HELP US TO HELP OUR LOCAL COAST GUARD SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN!

“As a lifelong boater, I can’t think of anything more frightening than being far away from shore in a disabled boat.  I hope you’re never faced with an emergency on the water, but if you are I can guarantee you’ll never forget the relief you feel the moment you see the Coast Guard coming to your rescue.  They’re there for you when you need them.  I’m asking you to be there for them – by making a gift today to the Coast Guard Foundation.”

Those are the words of a Kingman Boater who, after being rescued himself, has decided to do work through the Coast Guard Foundation to do something positive to help the families of our local Coast Guard servicemen and women.  This member of our community has anonymously offered to match the donations of other Kingman Boaters up to $32,500 to refurbish the community rec center at Air Station Cape Cod.

Air Station Cape Cod is the only Coast Guard Aviation facility in the northeast, responsible for the waters from New Jersey to the Canadian border, and capable of launching a helicopter or fixed-wing aircraft within 30 minutes of a call, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, in nearly any weather condition.  As the second largest Coast Guard base in the country, ASCC is home to more than 1,500 Coast Guard personnel and their families.

With the help of the Coast Guard Foundation and the Kingman Community, the recreation center which is the hub for family activity on base is being refurbished to provide a safe, fun place for Coast Guard families.  Coast Guard members who know that their families are supported are better equipped to serve, better prepared to go out on missions, and more focused because they are less distracted by concerns for their families’ welfare.

This is a chance to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of those servicemen and women – right here in our home waters – who are here for us in our times of need.  Every dollar we donate will go directly to the $65,000 rec center restoration, and will be matched dollar for dollar by our anonymous Kingman Boater.  Please visit https://wfc2.wiredforchange.com/o/8777/donate_page/coastguardfoundation-capecodpr today to make a tax-deductible donation to this Coast Guard Foundation project.  Let’s demonstrate that the Kingman Community can provide vital assistance to one of the Coast Guard’s most essential assets – their families.
